carousel 21.61% engagedI wrote a letter to India’s Education Minister requesting his resignation. The Ministry of Education has a profound impact on the lives of every young person in this country and, consequently, the future of the nation. In this letter, I lay out two reasons why he should voluntarily step down from the post. As the education minister responsible for both the NTA and the CBSE, Mr @dpradhanbjp is ultimately responsible for the outcomes of both organisations. It is morally untenable for him to continue enjoying the privilege of power while millions of young people he is responsible for suffer its consequences. We cannot risk even one more young life being affected by the systemic apathy of the organisations he leads. Power is a privilege that belongs to those capable of wielding it. India does not lack capable individuals to lead this ministry.
image 13.39% engagedI often write on LinkedIn, on topics like work culture, corporate behaviour, public goods, capitalism, and the future of work. These topics are close to my heart, as I taught them over the years in my MBA elective Strategic Stewardship at IIM Bangalore and researched as a fellow at the Stigler Center at Booth and the Inclusive Markets Lab. These are also the topics that excite me at work at UCL. So, when Aurodeep, the commissioning editor at @westland_books, reached out to me last May (via a simple DM on LinkedIn!) about writing a book, it felt like the right moment. I had some structured notes from my course, but I wanted to do more than just turn them into a book. I wanted to translate what we discuss in the classroom into something that sparks fresh conversations on how businesses can tackle today’s toughest challenges. From June to September, while teaching my Strategy course at IIMB, I also wrote - taking the ideas from my classroom and expanding them into a book. My students knew about the process and were incredibly supportive, offering insights and feedback that became an essential part of the book’s journey. In many ways, they co-created this with me. After months of refining and reworking, I’m finally here - with something I’m truly excited to share. I’m thrilled to introduce my first book: Atypical: Five Strategy Rules for a New World. It will be released worldwide on February 17, 2025, and is already available for pre-order on Amazon and in bookstores across India! 📖 Atypical: Five Strategy Rules for a New World 🎉 📅 Releasing worldwide on February 17, 2025 🛒 Now available for pre-order! Link in Bio The book explores how organisations must evolve to navigate the complexity of the 21st century. It centres on atypical and often marginalised stakeholders as the key to innovative, future-ready strategies. It introduces five essential skills for strategic leadership in the new world: Empathy, Grounded leadership, Ecosystem building, Atypical testing and Nurturing commons. I’m deeply grateful to Raghuram Rajan, Rishikesha Krishnan, and Trilochan Sastry for their early reviews and generous blurbs, and would love to hear from you as well. 😊
reel 11.79% engagedToday was the dark midnight for Indian democracy, just before a new dawn. The Indian government, in its arrogance, has lost an entire generation of young people today (like the Congress did in 2011), who will never return again. And as the hypnosis and propaganda of this government wanes from the eyes of the youth, the reality of the Indian economy, education, and environment will appear clearly to them again, all of which need urgent attention and genuine leadership. The force of cultural politics - Hindu/Muslim Us/Them - is no longer going to have its bite. The ghost of hate politics is no longer going to have its hold anymore as the hypnosis is over. The lathis of the Delhi police have woken an entire generation up. It is not only the Delhi police alone that has struck lathis on young Indians, but the entire education system of India - the ministry, the education board, the exam system, as well as the defining silence of the Prime Minister, ministers, bureaucrats, academics, media and more. Young people now know clearly with no uncertainty that the current establishment may serve many, but it does not serve them. I hope people see today as what it was - beginning of a new day, a better day for Indian democracy.

Strategy summary
What's working, what to fix, and what to ship next.
TL;DR
Triple posting cadence from 1.6/week to hit 3-5 benchmarks for niche growth, as low frequency starves the algorithm despite post 13's 238 likes (3x avg) proving carousel power on activism. Political rants like #0 reel (125 likes) and #13 dominate engagement at 35% feed share, tapping youth unrest, while travel visuals (30% share) quietly build loyalty with serene India shots (#5-7). Leakiest pipe: sporadic drops kill momentum, evident in follower stagnation at 1120. Lean into hooks like 'I [did]...' (used 5x) for authentic voice that converts views to comments (up to 17 on #1).
Working
5- Activism carousels explode engagement, post 13 at 238 likes.
- Personal 'I did...' hooks reuse well in high-performers #1,9,13.
- Travel series build visually during peak seasons #4-7.
- Timely controversy draws comments #0 (7), #1 (17).
- Weekend posts like #13 Saturday align with peaks.
Risks
5- Cut posting gaps over 10 days to sustain visibility.
- Vary non-political content to 65% to avoid echo chamber.
- Add CTAs in every caption for saves/shares.
- Skip low-eng philosophy unless tied to current events.
- Boost reel audio with trending Indian sounds.
Ship next
5- Post 3x/week targeting Thursdays and weekends.
- Double carousels on travel with captions teasing untold stories.
- Test 1 reel/week on activism themes like post 0.
- Engage comments on high-like posts within 24h.
- Collaborate with protest accounts for cross-posts.
