reel 34.97% engagedThis year, we took the 10% pledge 🔸 as a business. If you want to do the same or find out more, go to givingwhatwecan.org/ali 🌻
reel 28.42% engagedI’ve never made it a secret that I’m VERY skeptical of billionaires and their philanthropy (please pay your taxes first, thank you). And I have to admit that I used to be really skeptical about charity in general… but I changed my mind. Four years ago now, I took @giving_what_we_can🔸10% Pledge to give at least 10% of my income to super effective charities. And it has really changed my life, to be honest: I think it has been one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done! I’m super proud to be part of a movement of almost 9,000 ordinary people who have also taken the pledge, and who help fight poverty, child mortality, factory farming, climate change - and you name it. But there’s a long way to go! I think giving 10% effectively should become a cultural norm, and today I invite you to step up, join the movement and take a pledge too. Go to gwwc.org/pledge or the link in bio for more information.

Strategy summary
What's working, what to fix, and what to ship next.
TL;DR
Pledger testimonials generate explosive engagement, with post 0 at 2403 likes, post 5 at 2965, and post 6 at 2400 proving personal stories outperform explainers by 10x. This niche thrives on inspiration over pure education, yet cadence sits at just 1.1 posts/week, starving growth at 8710 followers where consistent volume could double reach. Lean into what converts skeptics: raw, vulnerable journeys like post 24's vegan-to-donor pivot that rack up 393 comments on ethics and action. Pillars cluster tightly around pledges (24%), interventions (28%), and EA roots (17%), but animal welfare at 17% lags without hooks. Ramp to 3 posts/week to plug the frequency leak and scale 72-comment threads into viral pledge waves.
Working
5- Pledger profiles like posts 9,18,20 foster community.
- Skeptic-to-believer arcs crush engagement: post 0 at 2403 likes.
- Intervention explainers educate reliably: post 8,16.
- Wealth surprise reels spark shares: post 1,2.
- Question hooks drive comments: post 23 with 9.
Risks
5- Boost post frequency beyond 1.1/week to sustain momentum.
- Add calls-to-action in 80% of captions linking to pledge site.
- Diversify beyond carousels; reels like post 0 dominate likes.
- Shorten captions under 150 chars for better retention.
- Reduce pure stats posts; pair with personal angles.
Ship next
5- Post **3x/week** starting with pledger stories on Mondays.
- Test **2 new hooks** from top performers in next 10 posts.
- Run giveaway for pledge sign-ups tied to post 0 style.
- Analyze reel saves/shares for intervention posts.
- Collaborate with 3 pledgers for UGC carousels.
